A Forever Friend

Throughout our lives, we meet lots of different people. For whatever reason, some people pass through our lives at different times and then move on, never to be heard from again. Other people have a much more significant impact on our lives, a deep connection is made, and a lucky few become a "forever friend". To me, a forever friend doesn't have to be someone you see everyday, or even live close to. In fact, there may be times during the course of your life that you don't see or speak to this friend at all. However, when you do finally reunite, it's as if no time has passed at all and you reconnect instantly. My friend Robyn is one of my forever friends.
We've known each other since Kindergarten. We grew up in Tucson, AZ. Went to the same Elementary, Junior High and High School. We were in Brownies and even cheerleaders together. We currently both live in the Phoenix area and over a year and 1/2 has passed by since we last saw each other. We each have a little girl, less than a year apart in age. I'm not sure why we let so much time go by without seeing each other--I guess our busy lives sometimes get in the way. But luckily we had another reunion this past Friday. Lunch at Mimi's Cafe.

We reminisced and giggled. It was awesome! And I'm not going to let so much time go by this time...she's too precious to me.

And there's just something so comforting knowing someone who has known you your whole life, through all your ups and downs, and they still want to be your friend.

Hi forever friend_Those are super nice words you have for our friendship!! It is definately nice to know that we can still be friends even through both of our ups and downs, big hair days, days before braces, broken arms, bad boyfriends and yet we can still reconnect and laugh about it all!! Thanks for being my friend for the past 30 years!!! Love, Robyn
